ENGLISH FOR MEDIATORS
Mediation offers a great tool to improve personal as well as business relationships and can be used in a variety of different conflict situations. This class for certified mediators offers a way to gain knowledge about the mediation process using the English language as well as practicing with colleagues and asking questions. It will enable the participants to build a good foundation for facilitating mediations using English as the common language with their clients.
The course will be led by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang K. Hünig and myself. We are both certified mediators and have experience in teaching and leading mediations in English.

We will not repeat what is learned in German mediation courses but teach you language skills and techniques:
- Introducing the mediation concept and the mediator role
- Structuring the landscape of a needs-focused negotiation process
- Leading clients away from their positions to their interests and needs
- Non-Violent Communication Skills
- Questioning techniques
- Methods and tools for a successful conflict solution for different clients and different settings
- Practicing role play

Your English language skills should be Level B1/B2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) or higher.
